WHERE HAS THE YEAR GONE?

Hey. How you doing? There’s been a bit on… but here we are at the end of the year already.

It’s coming in hot to the festive season so I’m bringing you my favourite festive reels for a bit of inspo.

This time of year can be hard, as I find content can so easily tick over into cliché and tacky. Good Christmas content (to me) holds something back. Coco Chanel said that “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off”… there’s my philosophy on Christmas content.

Honestly they’ve sleigh-ed the year with their content, events and activations. From the runway show at Versailles to ai jumbo bags… they nail the unexpected and are effortlessly cool in the process.

For me this is the perfect example of ‘christmas’ but stripping it back- it’s just fkn cool.

² The selfridges santa

SANTA IS HERE TO SLEIGH

I love the Selfridges social content. It’s fun, playful, relevant and picks up on trends that make sense to their brand.

³ SIMPLE HOLIDAY MOMENTS

This one is sweet and so easy to execute. Sometimes a good reel doesn’t need to be overly complicated.

Get your phone onto a tripod and position it so that you have good light with a sliver of tree or decoration in the background. Roll the camera and the world is your oyster- fit check moments incorporating slightly different positions so you can cut to the music- try coming up close toward the camera, then further back, to the side, walking out of frame.. add in family members or friends, create a before and after of your holiday look. 

Below is a similar edit I did for Jess Pecoraro- it wasn't holiday themed but it's the same idea or setting up the camera, pressing record, and then giving lots of options so that we can create interesting cuts within the edit.
